Project overview

Through this investment, the improvement of the parameters of the railway line and the increase of the speed of movement on the line, the replacement of the ballast of the track, since this material had lost its ability and stability to resist the vertical forces caused by the movement of railway vehicles and sleepers, are sunk in the ground.
As a consequence of the weakening of the physical and mechanical qualities of the ballast material, the railway line suffered deformations with successive ups and downs.
In the railway line from km 32+400 – 34+000, the ballast made of coarse stone material was replaced, the slope of the railway line was cleaned, the line was completed with new wooden sleepers since the previous sleepers were completely rotten and out of order.
In total, 1.6 km of railway line was reactivated.
